New Beginnings

Technically, every beginning is new.

I have been inspired today. Well, I have spent the last handful of hours doing nothing extraordinary despite my stacks of homework assignments. I decided to go look for t.t's blog because she was talking about it as we were walking home the other day. Afterwards, I went to look for j.l's blog because she have been very excited about it too. It was nice to see their venues to share the ups, downs, and curves in their day. Last night I was falling asleep and thought, "Hmm, the only way I can improve my writing is if I keep doing it. Since writing in my beautiful journals have turned to something I only do when something 'important' happens and writing in pen is so nice, but so time consuming I decided to BLOG!"

I have always admired other peer's writing, especially when it's insightful, original and provocative? It cease to amaze me when the average Joes and Janes post the most thought-provoking writing. I don't think my blog will be as interesting as those people's. I think a lot, and I even think about posting what I think a lot, but the thought of needing to organize those thoughts into structured sentences that other people could possibly comprehend intimidated me. I guess I was also afraid of what others would criticize my writing in not-so-polite ways.

Have you noticed that I have been typing in (what I hope are) grammatically correct sentences? I'll let you in on a secret- I've also tried to subtly squeeze in a few "more impressive" vocabulary terms and methods of writing. This blog is ideally supposed to improve my writing and stimulate my creative cells so I can "write on demand" and not spend hours with writer's block. This might be cheating, but while reading j.l's blog she said she wanted to start every blog with a quote. I hope you don't mind honey, but I'm going to end every blog with a new word and its definition.

Oh, before I leave:
1. I think I inspired j.k to blog. I simple adore this girl, she keeps me sane.
2. j.l has the same initials as my pal j.l whom we've always called, "j.l."
3. The definitions will be from dictionary.com. It is sad to admit, but this website is one of my most frequently visited sites. It's not my fault. My economics teacher's demanding (in a good way?).
4. Thank god this has automatic spell check.
5. I've wanted to use emoticons so many times, but decided I must express those feelings in words and the way I type!
6. I've already edited this blog 4 times after noticing errors! How frustrating and time consuming.
7. This layout is too girly. It's something the younger me would have preferred. I don't have time to change it right now though.
8. I am not editing this post again. Pardon any errors you may casually come across.

  1. me likey! Some minor errors but I love how you're using this to improve your writing! Blogging is so fun, it's just something really great to do when you feel boggled down. I hope it helps you in the same way that it helps me!

P.S. Don't go back and "edit" your work. Your work will edit itself over time.
(That's not literal by the way, haha)
